李思敏 MiMi Lee
MiMi Lee is a Hong Kong-born artist from the post-80s generation. She graduated with a Bachelor of Fine Arts from RMIT University in Melbourne, Australia (2013). Deeply fascinated by antique and vintage collectibles, she draws inspiration from the traces of time and the untold stories behind objects. Her love for nature, along with a keen interest in ancient civilizations, extraterrestrial cultures, film, photography, music, and the arts, fuels a multidisciplinary approach to her creative practice.
Her work spans various media, including painting, mixed media, and installation art. Blending fantasy and reality through her unique visual language, she explores themes of memory, existence, and the unknown. Her aesthetic often evokes a nostalgic yet futuristic atmosphere, guiding viewers into an imaginative universe that transcends time and space.
香港八十後藝術家,畢業於澳洲皇家墨爾本理工大學(RMIT University),獲藝術文學士學位(2013)。她的創作靈感源於對生活中種種細節的敏銳觀察,特別迷戀蒐集古董與中古物品,從歷史的痕跡中發掘時間的詩意與物件背後的故事。她熱愛自然,對古文明、外星文化、電影、攝影、音樂及各類文化藝術懷抱深厚興趣,並將這些多元元素融合於作品之中,展現出強烈的個人風格與神秘感。
她的藝術實踐跨越多個媒介,包括繪畫、混合媒材及裝置藝術,常以奇幻與現實交錯的視覺語言,探索人類記憶、存在與未知世界的連結。其作品透露著一種懷舊又未來感兼具的美學,帶領觀者進入一個超越時空的想像宇宙。

Through my work, I explore the nightlife of Hong Kong, using it as a lens to reflect on the feelings of exile, illusion, and disconnection. I attempt to reconstruct a reality shared by many Hongkongers—one where life is still trapped within glass bottles, and where people continue to indulge in a metaphorical “lake of wine and forest of meat.”
“Hallucinations City, We Were Dreaming” (Series) is a composite installation that features melted glass bottles from various alcohol brands—collected from pubs and streets—merged together with three photographic works. These images explore themes of cultural, physical, and spiritual healing, while intertwining scenes of contemporary figures and urban nightlife.
Bathed in colorful lighting and layered with an intoxicating visual distortion, the photographs capture the chaotic beauty and psychological atmosphere of Hong Kong after dark. Together, they represent the city as a complex, multi-national space that expresses joy, madness, and deep loneliness—all coexisting beneath the neon glow.

It feels as if high technology has accelerated human connections—
Yet in this speed, we become lost between the virtual and the real.
Time slips through endless wormholes,
Spiraling into a dark vortex.
As material consumption once defined our world,
The traces of human civilization begin to fade.
In the end, everything returns to the origin—
A quiet reset of all that once was.
